Visiting the Marian Sisters

Today, we visited one of the many orders of religious sisters in Lincoln. The Marian Sisters are an order of teaching sisters in Nebraska, but originally started in Czechoslovakia. We are grateful they took time out of their day to show us around the convent, let us watch them make bread, eat lunch with them, and even played duck, duck goose. The kids had a delightful time!

We all played follow the leader. Lillie told me that night that she wants to be a Marian Sister because they played with her and held her hand. The power of good influence at its best.

Pure joy for any mother to watch.

Somebody thought everything was so very funny today. Little Easter bunny.

Rose thought it was so funny they could run fast. She tapped their heads every time it was her turn. She asked the sisters, "What do you say when you pray?"

They challenged the kids to pray three Hail Mary's everyday to know their vocation.

  1. FUN. Lucky you and your family. What a wonderful opportunity. I caught a glimpse of a good friend who is a novice. I'm sure the sisters enjoyed you as much as you enjoyed them!

  2. Looks like such a fun time! We'll have to give it a try one of these days, too. I love the sisters. It's so crazy to think that people we went to school with are religious sisters, isn't it? I love it!!!
