Irish Step Dance Recital 2014

The older three girls started taking Irish Step at the beginning of this school year. I will never forget the first time I experienced my first viewing of Riverdance. Holy Smokes! I was blown away. I was in high school and wanted desperately to learn that beautiful dance. When Lillie and Rose were 3 and 4 years old, we enrolled them in Irish Step for a few months. I was elated to learn of a homeschool group being organized this year. The girls' progress over the course of one year was astonishing. I can't wait to see what the the years to come may bring. A little video from the recital. Zellie in yellow. Lillie in green. Rose in pink (in the back left).

Doesn't she look like the map of Ireland?  Red hair, fair skin, blue eyes, lightly freckled skin, and green shirt.  She just stepped off of a boat from Dublin.  To Lillie, this recital was equivalent to performing at Carnegie Hall.  She was nervous and giddy about performing in front of people.  Once while hosting bible study at our home, she confidently walked out to our group and asked to sing the Star Spangled Banner in front of everyone.  This was her shining moment.
Rose was a complete natural.  She caught on swiftly and perfectly.  Each step was done with precision.  I loved watching her during practice counting and performing.
100% pure joy to watch.  She was little to start, but wanted to so much.  I loved watching her try to keep up with the older girls.

The group of older girls took lessons after the young group.  We never stayed to watch them practice until dress rehearsal.  Lillie, Rose, and Zellie were star struck.  They were so experienced and tapped so fast.  They loved their costumes, shoes, and speed.  They asked me over and over how many years until they will be able to dance that fast.
