Easter Sunday 2013

Happy Easter! Linking up with Camp Patton and all the other lovely individuals. Dressing my family is one of my greatest pleasures. I never spend a lot as I love thrift stores and have the patience of Job when waiting for awesome sales, but I love getting my little dolls dressed especially for big holidays.

I found most of the dresses at the Children's Place for $13.00 each and a few at TJ Maxx for $10.00 each.  I love ordering on-line and clicking sizes 12 months, 2T, 4T, 5T, size 7, and size 8.  It is just fun.  Dominic wore his confirmation suit we purchased at JCPenney's.  I found my dress on the clearance rack at Dress Barn late last night.  I LOVE Princess Catherine's style and have been wanting to wear a fascinator.  I found the perfect black one at Kohl's for $7.00.  I wish so much women would return to this lovely fashion.  It is so elegant and lady like.

The kids hid and re-hid the eggs all morning.  It was Clairvaux's turn to hide the eggs and she hid them all by the TV.  I asked her why she did that and she replied, "I wanted to count them all."

Easter Morning!!!!!!!!!!!
Grandpa pushed the squealing girls high on the swing.
The best Easter present was to sit outside in WARM weather.

Good Friday, March 29, 2013

Today is the day Our Lord died for my sins.  The term actually was God's Friday.  Just as, Good Bye traditionally was said as God be Ye.

Watching the Passion this evening always leaves me with questions as "What am I willing to die for?"  Is my life resembling my Lord's?  Am I living the words, "This is my body which will be given up for you?"

Several hundred people gathered outside Planned Parenthood to pray for an end to abortion.  Bishop Conley led the stations and chaplet.  The Pius Spectrum singers gave us the gift of their voices to honor Our Lord.  I wonder how much more Our Lord will take regarding the murder of innocent little lives.

I hope by the end of my life I have offered all I can for the unborn and have not wasted the opportunities present each day to use for His kingdom.  He certainly didn't waste His life for mine.

Pius Wrestling Club 2013

Dominic joined the Pius Wrestling Club this year for the first time. We had no idea if he would like wrestling as both of us are completely unfamiliar with the sport. He is such an easy going guy that we both thought he would be hesitant against his opponents. We sure were wrong. He loved it and looked forward to every practice. Dom is a coach's dream. He listens well, does exactly what he is told, and tries so hard to work on whatever task was demonstrated. A friend of ours wrestled in college and told Dominic about a move he invented called the Super Duck. Dominic worked hard to perfect it. I was pleasantly surprised how much we enjoyed watching him as both of our tendencies fall towards a love of basketball and football. The more I understood the sport, the more I hope he continues to pursue it. A built in fan club eager to watch his first match.

His bigger fan club opposite the gym waiting for him to wrestle.
His first match caught him pretty off guard. He didn't quite understand the logistics, but his second match brought gnarling teeth against his opponent and a lot more intensity on Dom's part.

I needed to be resuscitated the first time I saw him in a singlet. I mean, come on!!!!!!!!!!! It was great.

St. Patrick's Day

Today is a big day for our family as John and I are both half Irish.

Baby's hair is starting to curl in the back.  She looks Irish today with the red tint to her hair and wool sweater.

We enjoyed a great meal of Pioneer Woman's Potato Soup, baked asparagus, Irish Soda Bread, root bear, and Shamrock shakes.  We ended the evening by watching "The Quiet Man."

Ballet Day

Well, the fun has begun. I think they were up at 5 something o'clock filled with dreams of their first ballet lesson that would teach them all the delicate moves they have seen on Twelve Dancing Princesses.

Lillie-8 years old.  Ballet slipper size 5 1/2.
Rose-7 years old.  Ballet slipper size 1.
Zellie-5 years old.  Ballet slipper size 11 1/2.
Vianney-4 years old.  Ballet slipper size 10.
Wanting so badly to go and do a "Pea-A."  She knows the terms.  Clairvaux-2.
Chubby 4 year old thighs.

Vianney trembled a few times.  She held tight to her sisters.

She is now asking herself, "Why did I want to do ballet so bad?"

Rose was a natural.  She always is when it comes to anything athletic.
Vianney practicing her moves when she thinks no one is watching.

They loved their first practice.  I contacted the Dowd Irish Dance Academy as I think we would prefer them to learn this style of dancing, but for now this is too precious for their parents not to do.  John called twice wanting up-dates.
