Krispy Kreme

We traveled to Kansas City last week for a funeral. We arrived at our hotel around 11:00 PM. What would be more fun than to head to Krispy Kreme right before bedtime? I asked the hotel clerk if one was near and he replied "Oh yeah, just down the street." So, off we walked "just down the street" ten blocks later.
I daily wonder if our children will remember all their childhood experiences. They were running, skipping, and jumping all the way to KK. It was ridiculously hot and fun. My mother walked along with us.
Upon arriving, we realized at that hour you can only obtain doughnuts through the drive-through. After trying to walk through the drive-through with no avail (the nerve), John sprinted back to the hotel to fetch our wheels and we loaded up and ordered our doughnuts.
It is fun to stand at the window and watch the doughnuts being glazed. One of my favorite hobbies happens to be doughnut glazing.

    I'm imagining the desperate 10 minutes of staring at the donuts without being able to have any of them while waiting on John. Torture!

    I hope my whole "they won't remember it anyway" discussion the other night wasn't too much of a downer for you. Sorry about that. As it happens, you take such amazing pictures and write it up in such a fun way, even the ones too young to have real memories will THINK they remember it from looking back on your writing.

    Oh man! Those look so perfect and so good right about now! (The donuts, I mean. Your kiddos are cute too, but all I can see are donuts, more donuts and donuts walking with dresses on...). Please tell me you ate one?

    You guys are awesome! Such fun parents! Who else would take 7 kids to get doughnuts at 11pm?!?!? Do you ever look at all your kids and think you have an extra? like when did that one get here? just wondering :)
